aside from a peppery snap in the middle of the flavor, this wasnt particularly memorable. too much for up front piney hops to be a saison too. not a good example of the style.

12 oz. bottle. Pours hazy gold with a light white head that leaves a thin film and collar. Aroma is bread yeast with light citrus and lemon rind. Taste is more bread biscuit peppery spice and mild citrus notes. Palate is crisp and dry. I will really enjoy this stuff when it 88 degrees out come summer.

Tart, grassy, and full of yeast. Spice and pepper, citrus, then a trailing finish. Light and punchy.

Transfer from BA reveiw on 3-27-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – Pours a lightly hazed golden yellow color with a big billowy white head. The head initially fades very fast, but then slows its fade and lingers a bit. Once the head is completely faded (after about 4 min) a decent level of lace is left on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is heaviest of wheat, yeast, grass and some haylike funk. Mixed with these are notes of pepper, coriander and nutmeg as well; overall a fairly drier smelling traditional saison. Taste – The taste starts out of a medium wheaty flavor as well as some flavors of a light citrus. As the taste advances yeast and the spices detected in the nose, come to the tongue with the orange citrus transitioning more toward a lemon flavor. As the orange transitions to lemon, the bready flavors lighten and haylike and grassy flavors enter the taste. These flavors all take the taste its end, where the funky and hay flavors get even stronger in nature producing a somewhat bitter and a bit unbalanced grassy and astringent haylike funky flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is thin in its creaminess and thickness with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. Both are nice for making a crisp feeling brew and suit well the lighter session saison profile that the beer is going for. Overall – The initial tastes, mouthfeel, and look were all very nice, but the finish to the taste, with its big funky, grassy, haylike, and bitter flavors weren’t balanced out by enough wheaty/bready flavors/body.

barncatmatt (2286) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 16, 2013
355 ml bottle from wegmans in Niagara Falls ny. Clear light golden with a lasting white head. Nice light fruity and spicy nose. The flavour is way over spiced making it pretty much undrinkable. Not a session saison at all. Boooooooooooooooo!

GTAEgeek (2263) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAR 21, 2013
12 oz. bottle. Pale yellow, with a small, bubbly, white head. The aroma is lemons, hay, and some dusty, barnyard notes. The flavor is sweet and musty up front, with a bitter and sour finish. The palate is light to medium, astringent, dry, and a little grainy. Overall, this is a surprisingly funky and dry American saison, but the aftertaste is long, sour, and unpleasant.

Spices overwhelm grain taste---but were tasty. Very clear for a saison. Average head and body. Lots of flavor for a session brew!

msante79 (2225) - Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA - JUL 27, 2013
12oz bottle from Binny’s. Pours hazy golden yellow with white head. Aromas of lemony citrus, light spices, and saison yeast. Flavors are on the lighter side with some light spices, bready malts, little yeast, and some citrus. Nice drinkable beer.

3.3
ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - OCT 6, 2013
12oz bottle. Pours a pale straw color with a slight haze, with a huge, fluffy white head that lingers. Aroma is grainy, some barnyard, lemony citrus and some peppery spiciness. Very floral flavor up front, lemon and orange zest, herbal and slightly medicinal pepperiness on the finish. Almost tart tangy feel, lightly effervescent, on the lighter side of medium bodied, finishes dry.
