Draft at the Drafting Room, Exton. This one poured hazy gold with a fluffy, white head. The aroma was pale malty, with some tart fruit and hopcit notes. The body was on the full side, providing a great palate heft coupled with a rather sweet and fruity pils, but never forgetting the hop bite. To me, this created a wonderful mishmash of pilsy tart malts and fruity hops, and it does indeed approach the profile of an IIPA as it warms. I’d love to do a horizontal of this and Prima and SF Pikeland. egajdzis (6830) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 8, 2006
Poured a dark golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, some citrus fruits, toasted dough, and some bubblegum. Taste was toasty, with light caramel malts, toffee, citrus fruits, some grassiness, and a medium bitter finish. Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAY 8, 2006
Troy hooked us up big time with a fresh growler (with growler cooler) direct from victory. Pours a clear light gold with no head. Aroms is very spicy with herbal noble hops and czech saaz. Lots of bready pils malt as well. Flavor is very sweet bordering on harsha nd cloying but not quite. Could be a little more crisp as it gets sticky in the middle- and finishes with a smooth clean bitterness. Pretty good overall, but honestly I think SA is still one of my favorite impy pils. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a golden amber with an average foamy off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of citrus and that distinct pils malt. Flavor was a nice hop bitterness with a grainy malt balance and some pine. Great crispness, refreshing yet hoppy. As I drank this one I was also picking up more floral in both the aroma and taste. ABV really well hidden. beastiefan2k (4180) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - APR 29, 2006
UPDATED: MAY 3, 2006 Growler brought by Mullman (i think, woops, I mean TrojanHorse Troy... nice) to Dickinsonbeer’s Pre-TAP gathering, thanks. Pours a clear golden, can see through the beer. A present aroma, get some sweetness behind the pilsner aroma. Body is medium, not much distinct taste. Coats the tongue a bit with a bit of bitterness at the end.

04.28.06 Same day sample from growler at Paul’s Pre-TAPNY thanks to Troy. This beer rocked. Pretty golden with lingering white head. Bit corny on the nose, kind of malt-liquorish, but also nicely grassy and holding back notes of earth. Tasty quaff, it hides the booze well on the palate keeping a nice balance and leaving with a back of the tongue bite. Quick to finish. Well done. Clear, crisp, golden color, slimmish head on it.
Sweetness in the nose, and clean, almost vegetal, herbal, nice, with a light spiciness. Delicate hops.
Big, bold, nay, huge deployment on the palate, a thick, and luscious display of malt and hops. Snappy, again, just judiciously hoppy, with a strong malty backup. Profound mouthfeel, resonates huge in the mouth. Thick, but not quite cloying.
I’ve had pils, and double pils, but never a triple. This is a monumental monster here, and quite delicious. I sip it slowly, as it’s 8.8%, and that will ring in with ferocity soon enough.
Man...good stuff. you said it! Who said it? Me? Who are you talking to???
And I’ve only had 1/2 a pint so far, good lord... Immy (1958) - Virginia Beach, USA - APR 12, 2006
Tap at the brewery. Clear, solid gold, very little carbonation, decent white head. This is a pils on ’roids! nose is floral, some citrusy orange, and some doughlike scents. Nice, full body, lively mouthfeel. Malty backbone, caramel flavors, with some grassyness. Peppery bitter finish. I really liked this one! jimmack (1223) - Nutley, New Jersey, USA - MAY 7, 2006
Two hour old growler thanks to Troy. Crystal clear bright yellow/gold color with a decent sized white head. Sweet malty aroma with some corn syrup and a decent hoppy nose. Flavor was corn syrup, alcohol and wet straw. Reminded me of a fancy malt liquor. IMtheOptimator (1170) - Brookfield, Connecticut, USA - APR 29, 2006
Shared from a growler at the Pre-Tap gathering. Poured a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of grassy Saaz hops with a touch of corn. Taste is strong corn, grass, and dry alcohol. Big kick and alcohol burn. Goes down hot and heavy, like a IIPA.
