Golden yellow with a small white head.
White vine, fresh, tart aroma with some dill.
Taste is fresh, tart and dry, light malty with some white wine, some alcohol shines through.
Medium body, soft carbonation, dry mouth feel.
Herbal bitter after taste. AmericanSpirits (11) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - SEP 18, 2014
You never forget your first love. This beer has just aboit everything going for it. Aroma of white wine, coriander, grape, oak and just a bit of bread. Taste is smooth and incredibly buttery from the barrels, oak shines from start to finish. Best american triple I’ve had since 1990 always. Bottle. Pours a deep golden color with a medium white head. Aroma of pale malts, yeast, oak and white wine. Flavor of sweet pale malts, oak, white wine, grapes and vanilla. Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - SEP 15, 2014
Shared with Claudia on our first night in RVA. Clear golden pour with quick fading white head. Typical triple sweetness and character with vanilla and oak. The vinous white grapey character is quite enjoyable. Pretty good treatment of an already good beer.

Almost clear gold beer, decent white head. Smooth palate, mild fine carbonation. Smooth malts, light cream and a trace of honey. Mild vanilla oak and mild grape. Good white wine tang. Well integrated mild orange. Pinch of spice. Finishes smooth and semi dry. Mild winey linger. Lovely stuff, really nicely joined up and the last mouthful was as good as the first, lovely.
"Via ggrumet. Pretty obvious barrel influence for only being 3 months in the wood, according to the label. Grapes and oak come through, but as well as the fruitiness and yeastiness from the base beer. Still pretty gassy, yet smooth and covers up the abv well. Not sure if it’s worth a hike in price from the non-barreled version, but it was definitely nice to try."

750 ml. Pours a lightly hazy burnt orange-amber with a lasting film of bubbles. Nose is butterscotch and white wine. Tastes of butterscotch toffee, white grapes, wine, light citrus and a nice touch of oak. Medium body has medium-high carbonation and a nice balance. A little too much of the wine shows up but otherwise very tasty.
