"Via ggrumet. Pretty obvious barrel influence for only being 3 months in the wood, according to the label. Grapes and oak come through, but as well as the fruitiness and yeastiness from the base beer. Still pretty gassy, yet smooth and covers up the abv well. Not sure if it’s worth a hike in price from the non-barreled version, but it was definitely nice to try."

750 ml. Pours a lightly hazy burnt orange-amber with a lasting film of bubbles. Nose is butterscotch and white wine. Tastes of butterscotch toffee, white grapes, wine, light citrus and a nice touch of oak. Medium body has medium-high carbonation and a nice balance. A little too much of the wine shows up but otherwise very tasty. baraciisch (3383) - California, USA - AUG 27, 2014
Enjoyed side by side with golden monkey... Slightly darker burnt orange in color... Aroma is all buttery Chardonnay... So much butter, light oak... Flavor is so smooth and buttery up front, spices and golden malts in the middle, really gentle finish... Really nice beer, better than the original

Pours lightly hazy golden color, with a thin 1-finger off-white head. Strong aroma of wood and white wine, perhaps a note of stone fruit as well. Body is medium and lightly oily, with a wine-like dryness in the finish. Flavor of white wine and maybe some crisp apple. Notes of vanilla and wood underneath, and a light earthiness at the back. Bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Nice fruity, spicy white wine aromas with light fruits, candi sugar, bready malts. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nice belgian spice, candi sugar sweet flavors with fruity, dry spicy white wine, wet wood tannins____drying spicy twang to finish___a bit too sweet for me, but still very tasty.

Pours gold with plenty of white, frothy head. Aroma is oak, vinous, brett, orange peel and earthly. Flavour is oak, orange peel and light to medium bitter. Plenty of elements of white wine here. Jayb0 (1218) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - AUG 11, 2014
Excellent. I’m surprised a bit by some of the low ratings but a fresh bottle from the brewery was great. Adds yet another layer of complexity to Golden Monkey while I think rounding it out, removing the sometimes slightly metallic character found in the base beer. laakus (155) - Nossebro, - AUG 8, 2014
From Systembolaget. Neutral aroma, dull looking appearance. Fruity hoppy taste with a bitter tone, the alcohol pushes through what makes this less intresting beer that was expected. VsXsV (4550) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 8, 2014
Bottle. Almost clear golden liquid with medium white head. Aroma of dill, butter, jenka, grain and sugar. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of jenka, butter and dill. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Really bad. olsvammel (7289) - Örebro, SWEDEN - AUG 7, 2014
Bottle from Systembolaget. Smell of oak, wood and butter. Taste of oak and butter. A bit to much butter for my taste, but still drinkable.
