Tap @ Andy's. Pours brown, tan head. Carmel/roasty aroma. Flavor is carmel up front with a raoasty/hoppy bite in the finish. Full bodied and smooth. Very nice drinking porter. axilla (962) - New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 2, 2004
Liked this one a lot. carmel, roasted malt nose and flavor with an expresso after taste. Very smooth going down. tbookman (618) - Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 31, 2004
Fairly mild porter. A smooth malty base with hints of roasted malt and chocolate. Body is a bit thin with very light hints of bitterness. Not bad, but not one of their better offerings.

Very good brew. Nice toasted malty aroma with a little hint of burnt chocolate. Very smooth creamy palate. Flavors are toasty and rich with a light hop bite on the finish. tmhst30 (10) - Prospect Park, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 7, 2003
Very well balanced porter. Good aroma and definitely a good session beer. (I've had a few sessions in Downingtown.) 1more4dessert (336) - Upstate, New York, USA - SEP 28, 2003
very nice and dark with nitro head, very thin, smelled more distinctive than it tasted. Subtle maltiness and a little latte. Reminds me of Fuller's so I guess it is true to style. chronictonic (472) - Oreland, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 15, 2003
The first time I tried this beer last year at Victory I was not impressed at all - had sort of a root beer flavor (beer line problem perhaps?). This time around I did not detect any "off" flavors, and, can now review this beer. This is an english style porter, and, is medium brown in color. A very enjoyable creamy roasted aroma is the first impression. Tasting reveals a pleasant roasted malt flavor, definitely not sweet. Mild malt body with a good crisp finish. Definitely good as a session beer. So enjoyable, I brought a keg of it home with me.

Tasting notes from 1 pint at the Mecca (~ 1 week prior to Memorial Day ’03)... Giant muscular malty mouthfeel from the start, with hints of fine chocolate. Please oh please Mr. Covaleski -- BOTTLE THIS!
