7/04/2010: Victory Yakima Twilight... Aroma: Bread crust; toasted caramel/toffee malts; floral and earthy hops. Appearance: Reddish-brown color; quite dark; some Flavor: Palate: Sweet bitter with the thick, cheqwy toffee malt followed by quite a bit of earthy bitterness with a citrus flair at the end. Overall: Decent, drinkable beer; was hoping for something a bit more refined; I would like to try this beer again...
12 fl. oz. bottle shared by ASB. Thanks Scott! Rating #798 for this beer.
This was good. It had a great mix of floral hop and roasted malt aromas. Dark brown color with medium head. Definitely not as black as most black IPA’s. Full palate with some weight that I attribute to heavy malts. Big toast flavors with solid hops presence on the floral and piney side, a little sweetness on the back end. Not a total palate wrecker but close. UncleKorm (1337) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JUL 18, 2013
Bottle poured a cola reddish brown hue containing some small sediment w/ a large beige head sticking to the glass as it diminishes. Big sweet malty aromas of caramel, toffee, chocolate, nutty, grain, cookie, plums, and orange. Initial flavor is heavy sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish of long duration. Tastes are caramel, plum, orange, molasses, light roasted rye, and sweet prunes. Full bodied, syrupy texture, soft carbonation, and a moderate warmth in the finish. 355 ml bottle at beerbistro. Pours a cloudy orangey brown with large tan head. Aroma is roasty malt and very spicy hops. Flavour is big on green, spicy hops with toasty/roasty malt giving hints of caramel and chocolate. Spicy bitterness in finish. Not obvious as a black IPA but nice. Brew42 (62) - - JUL 14, 2013
Pretty bitter beer. Tastes a lot like what I would imagine pine trees taste like. If you like bitter beers, I would recommend it.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma of malt, citrus, caramel, and grass. Taste is roasted malt, citrus, caramel, grass, and pine. Interesting and different. Garbageman (487) - Lexington, South Carolina, USA - JUL 12, 2013
From bottle. Poured a brown in color with small thick head. Aroma was sweet with biscuit and bread, some caramel. Taste follows with a little bitterness. ryanscourt (1546) - Latrobe, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 12, 2013
Wouldnt call this a black ipa, reminds me more of an india brown ale. Nontheless, nice malty flavor with balanced hop difference. Hops are nice at the end but dont overpower the nice malt body. joshwoodward (575) - - JUL 6, 2013
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2013 Had a taste of this on tap from Alexandrias in Findlay. Definitely on the sweet side, maybe not fresh, but solid. Citrus hops. chinchill (5340) - South Carolina, USA - JUN 26, 2013
12 oz bottle (suspected of being ~ at best by date) served in a snifter.
A - hazy, dark mahogany; a few drops of sediment at the bottom of the bottle were added and allowed to settled in the glass. Tan head of moderate size and retention.
S - earthy; malty; toasted grains; less hoppy than expected or remembered. Rich, attractive and interesting aroma with a nice toffee/chocolate tone.
T: Interesting and moderately strong flavor profile, with a pronounced and complex hop component well balanced by a substantial roasted malt base. A surprising earthy and roasted malt flavor (with some hoppiness) lingers in the mildly bitter aftertaste. High ABV not obvious.
Light-medium carbonation; Full body.
