COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The tenacious grip of big, juicy hop aroma and character slides smoothly into rich, dark malts. This heavyweight battle between fresh, Yakima Valley hops and dark, roasted malts is resolved harmoniously as the flavors merge to deliver complex satisfaction with a warming edge. Enjoy the ‘twilight’ for the bright and brassy hops!

Poured out of a bottle Dark copper to light brown in color Small off white head that lingers Aroma is of sweet malt with a hint of hops Taste is robust and malty but has enough bitterness to balance everything out A very complex yet easy drinking and enjoyable beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep red color. On the nose big citrus aromas with some underlying roasted malt notes. Palate shows incredible complexity, sweet and bitter, lemon zest and grapefruit. Another great balancing act of german malts and whole leaf yakima hops. The best dark ipa I’ve had to date. Victory!

An above average ipa with a good aftertaste. This is a beer that grows on you. This is not one of my favs, but it’s in my mid range brews. Thx Victory!

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2010 Poured a deep red with a brown head. Aroma is strongly of hops with a caramel sweetness. Taste is great with strong hops, the dark malts, caramel and some cinnamon with a slight bitter finish. Alcohol is hidden extremely well. Palate is great as well with slight carbonation. Overall a very good beer with an ABV that sneaks up on you.

Reminded me of ABA my first taste but the malt is stronger in this brew. Nice hop bitterness but not too aromatic in the fruitiness of some IPA’s. A good strong ale. Not many out there to choose from.

A decent beer, lacking a head altogether, no lacing. Excellent appearance. I would buy it again.

Hoppy nose. On cask in a snifter. Nice malt bitter balance. Very hoppy but the holds the balance well

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2009 Very flowery pungent aroma, almost lush like a greenhouse. Very hoppy Pours a medium dark brown with a thin white head that’s gone quickly and doesn’t leave much lacing. Very floral hoppiness up front. Some malt bitterness in the back. Lots of anise on the finish that becomes more pronounced the more you drink. Very nice palette, like a DFH 90. Great beer, I like this very much. Great cost/ABV ratio too.

This was my first Black IPA, it’s pretty interesting, Thin head with nice lacing very rich sort of medium hazy brown color. The taste is typical IPA, maybe mellowed slightly with a "roasty" almost coffee-like characteristic.
