12oz bottle served in a standard pint glass. The aroma and taste are a nice balance of piney hops and roasted malts. The abv is not noticable in the taste and the beer goes down smooth and easy. Another solid offering from the folks at Victory. johnluvsbeer (120) - Arizona, USA - FEB 28, 2012
Dark ruby red. Rich looking head of light tan rose up from the sides of the glass and reached a height of around two fingers before settling back down with a smooth and even lacing and a nice consistency hugging the glass. Aroma is a good bit hoppier up front. This one just seemed to be full of surprises. Rich caramel and earthy grains lie underneath a bouquet of pine like hops. Quite light and very complex. Very nice black IPA. Bennywisest (43) - - JUN 30, 2012
Tasted bottle. Deep mahogany red/brown color. Thick fizzy cream colored head. Aroma of resiny hops, roasted malts, caramel. vogt5059 (30) - Michigan, USA - DEC 20, 2012
Poured out of a bottle
Dark copper to light brown in color
Small off white head that lingers
Aroma is of sweet malt with a hint of hops
Taste is robust and malty but has enough bitterness to balance everything out
A very complex yet easy drinking and enjoyable beer

Pours a mahogany color with a thick tan head that leaves great lacing. Smells of pine, grapefruit, chocolate and roasted malt. Tastes of all the same things with a dark fruit flavor mixed in. Mouthfeel is heavy and chewy light carbonation and a dry finish. I really like the east coast style ipa mixed with roasted malts, its very well balanced yet strong at the same time.

On draft. Holy wow. Big aroma of floral and citrus hops, followed by a dark chocolate bomb of a beer. Almost stout-likr in depth if flavor. More raisin and red wine flavor as it warms. An all-timer. cwill (93) - Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 20, 2015
Pours a very dark brown, near black. Good deal of lacing.
Grapefruit lemon and grass, followed by roasted malts on the nose. Assertive floral hop flavor with citrus fruits, coffee and roasted malts. Smooth bitter finish. Nice black IPA TeamTrappist (832) - jericho, New York, USA - SEP 18, 2009
Tap at Browerij. Poured a rich copper color with a small light tan head. Full nose of floral hops, big malts. The nose says drink me. This beer is full bodied and full flavored. It tastes as you would expect a dark Ipa to taste, with nice floral hop, but a richer and fuller malt backbone. Neither is overpowering leaving this really drinkable and really good. jasonp (1581) - Ashburn, Virginia, USA - NOV 21, 2009
Pours a beautiful mahogany with some suspended particles and a thick manilla head which lasts the duration of the beer. The aroma is strong, yet balanced blend of pine, grapefruit, earthiness and toasted malts (reminds me of what SN Celebration Ale used to smell like) - very nice. Flavor has a huge malt backbone to support the hops - notes of toffee, munich malt (I think), woodiness and then a blast of pine and grapefruit. The bitterness is ample but balanced-out nicely by the malt. Thankfully, it doesn’t come across as too sweet, definitely a hop heavy beer. Palate-wise, you can’t ask for anything more - medium to full bodied, creamy texture and the carbonation level is just right; not too dull, not too prickly. Well done, Victory. craftbeerdesign (2254) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 23, 2009
bottle poured into a snifter... pours a deep red with a thick 2 finger rocky off white head... really nice appearance. the head dissipates after a few minutes and eventually falls to a slim lacing... excellent aromatic balance between citrus hops and deep malts. medium body with soft creamy sides and a nice bitter front. some deep caramel malts throughout... very well blended finish with a good amount of malts and a bitter splash at the back. this one really reminds me of Arrogant Bastard. A nice hoppy American Strong that really shows of hops and blends well with deep malts.
