Bottle as "Villers Oud Vieille" @ home, shared with Dutchdrebus. Dark red / brown color, decent sized off-white head. Sweet and malty smell. Tastes about the same: malts and sweetness, nothing more. Decent carbo, medium body.

Bouteille 33cl.

KyotoLefty (10254) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAY 24, 2011
Bottle from Asao. Bit chocolate and fruit nose, caramel, dried plums and raisins. Nice and chewy. Very dark brown with a bit of orange and a low, super fine head. Fruity, caramel and chocolate flavor, quite sweet, but with a sour edge to it. Is it really an oud bruin? Lots of fresh fruit like cherry, plus a bit of dried plums. Nice enough, though a bit too much cheap sweetness. The nose alone was better!

Bottle, 33 cl. Dark brown beer with a red shine, medium beige light unstable head. Aroma of malts, dark fruits and light sweet. Taste is malty, light caramel, some dark fruity texture, light hoppy aftertaste. Not very special, but OK anyway.

3.2
jaghana (6066) - Strasbourg (Alsace), FRANCE - NOV 25, 2010
Bottle 33cl. A clear brown beer with medium head. Smell is on brown malt. Aroma is medium sweet with good brown malt aroma and huge fruity yeast at the finish. But there is nothing about usual oude bruin such as cherry and vinous notes. So it’s a normal brown beer with a fruity yeast.
