A hazy amber beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of fresh apples as well as over ripe fruit, the flavor is pretty much like the aroma though added a touch of caramel. joergen (28704) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 25, 2005

Dark reddish brown with scant head. Aroma of dark sour cherries. Flavor of malt with a hint of hops in the finish. A bit thin and average. omhper (25346) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - SEP 1, 2005
Bottled. Ruby colour, no head. Aroma of canned pineapple and cheap white wine. Sweet and sharp with medium body. Hard and metallic, perhaps some red berries. Flavourwise OK, but I’ve never before encountered a beer with such disastrously sharp mouthfeel. madmitch76 (25101) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2011

Dark brown beer packed with flavour. Coca cola and malt. Sweet sacharrin and a contrasting lightly sour finish.
(Bottle 33 cl) Dark indeed with an almost flat appearance, the CO2 is very low. Lightly sweetish with a lovely almost chocolatey aroma. Soft body with a very discreet hoppiness in the palate. An excellent abbey beer. My version was the original from Vieille Villers in Puurs. Now this is brewed by Huyghe. 080194 fiulijn (20938) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 16, 2002
Brewed by Huyghe
Chestnut brown, cloudy. Malt aroma, caramel. Dry in the front, malty, but even a bit astringent. Enough bitterness to balance the malt, but the final is not enough strong and aromatic.
Should be described as Dubbel, dryer than the average, pretty strong but missing a good character.
