Dark brown and clear. Has an off-white head, mostly lasting. Sweet aroma, notes of caremel and butterscotch. Flavor starts sweet, caramel, faint. Finish moderate bitter. Creamy, dry texture.

50 cl bottle. BBE 07.12.12, rated on 04.09.2012
Aroma is sourish with roasted notes and chocolate. Flavour is slightly sour with chocolate, coffee and hints of vanilla. Good.

Rated this one into my notebook as I poured some of it on my laptop and had to turn it off

500 ml bottle. Thanks Timo A.
Pours a dark brown, almost black colour with an off-white head. Aroma of toasted malts, rye bread and some spiciness. Flavour of roasted malts, nuts, some salty licorice and grassy hops. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and low carbonation. Finishes roasty, quite bitter and a bit salty. Good one.

Bottle at London gathering, November 2005. Thanks to Jacob Lovenlund for thisone and sorry we’ve blitzed the score of a previously highly rated beer. I’m sure it would be good fresh at the brewpub, but there was definitely something dubious about this bottle, even if I didn’t find it quite as hideous as other dis. Dark reddish brown colour. Malty and soft. Definitely sour. Didn’t pick up any rotting meat in the aroma, but I was suffering from a cold.

McTapps (6856) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - NOV 17, 2013
Pours out in a deep black colour with low head and medium body. Aroma of malt and toffee. Taste of bittersweet chocolate, malt, raisins, plums, nuts, torf and dark grains. Average Schwarzbier but just not that bad like many others. Not great either.

KnutAlbert (6754) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 2, 2014
Very dark brwon, nice roasted malt aroma. Sweet flavour, lacks hops to balance.

MichaelAwesome (6516) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - DEC 19, 2013
Trinkbares Schwarzbier - und das heißt schon was. Leicht im rötlichen mit ebenso leicht sauren Anklängen. Etwas Kaffee, etwas Karamell - ganz ok.

Zita (6317) - Assentoft, DENMARK - FEB 23, 2013
bread, toast, brown, off white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, oily feel, soft carbonation, light bitter finish.
