Jeppe (2631) - Brooklyn, Alabama, USA - NOV 23, 2005
Dark brown colored with a red gleam and a thin off-white head. Roasted malt aroma with creamy notes, rather mild but nicely balanced and pleasant. Malt and chocolate dominates the flavor, notes of fruit and grass. A bit thin in the body but well balanced. Very fruity for a schwarzbier.

Swingtop bottle. Medium high creamy and lasting off-white head. Very dark red brown body. Caramel cofffe roasted barley malt aroma with a touch of liquorice. Sugary sweet coffee roasted malt caramel flavor with little a bit of hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long bittersweet aftertaste. Well balanced, alcohol level seems just right. Delicious.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2016 Pours very dark brown with a huge but fast-settling mid coarse cream-coloured head, faint aromas of coffee, plum, leather and bread. More coffee on the palate, quite dry and lightly roasty, a little hop bitterness and burnt caramel in the mid-body, then dry-bitter, roasty and slightly salty in the aftertaste. Re-rate, it’s creamier than I remember ,almost verging on an ashy dry stout but with that porter/schwarz sweet edge.

Pours a black color with a brown head. Roasty and malty aroma. Smooth and light, but still full flavor with plenty of malty roastiness. Nice.

500 ml bottle. Thanks Timo A.
Pours a dark brown, almost black colour with an off-white head. Aroma of toasted malts, rye bread and some spiciness. Flavour of roasted malts, nuts, some salty licorice and grassy hops. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and low carbonation. Finishes roasty, quite bitter and a bit salty. Good one.

Svart som synden. Ton av kaffe och något bränd. Ingen framträdande beska. En öl med lite karaktär.

0,5 l swing top bottle. Nearly black in the glass. Beige longliving head. Low malty and berrie-fruits on the nose. Tastes dark malty, not burning, sweet background. Light fruity, caramell and hop herb. Relative easy to drink but not watery. Not bad.
