UPDATED: APR 15, 2017 Draft @ the brewery. Hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma had noble hops and fresh malty notes. Flavor had plenty of grassy hops, fresh pilz malt and floral hints. Finished dry and bitter. Rural and charming. TAR (2761) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - FEB 10, 2016
Bottle at the brewpub, best by June 2016, consumed in early December 2015: Hazy golden. Lathery white froth exhibits good stability. Solid aroma of piecrust, honeysuckle and lemon. Hints of sulfur, dough and minerals. Soft carbonation. Zesty yeast and bracing minerals dovetail with scratchy herbaceous hops. The zingy brightness of the lemony and woody Spalt is softened by a splash of nectar. Yeast shows some concrete notes across the tongue and consequently renders the body fairly stark as it seems to hollow out the body and displace much of the soft malt textures. Pils malt is quite firm and refined, though, providing a pastrylike sweetness. Starchy malt finish is somewhat marred by more concrete, as a simple mixture of lemon and nectar linger alongside a slightly husky aftertaste. Easily quaffable despite a few minor flaws. downender (8659) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 24, 2015
Bottle at the brewpub. Hazy yellow in colour, with a big, white, head. Easy drinking, with grainy malts, lemon fruit, a hint of clove spice and gentle yeasty finish. An enjoyable drink on a hot day. harrisoni (18578) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - MAY 11, 2015
On tap at Mainlust Viereth. Hazy gold lasting white head. Yeast lemon lager malt aroma. Seems like an unfiltered version of the vollbier. Yes has same lemon curd some bitterness on the finish. Toast character. OK. 3fourths (9345) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 30, 2015
Bottle at the Mainlust gastette. Cloudy gold with a white head of moderate retention. Yeasty and hoppy aroma is lemon pulp and flowers and dough with some understanding of the Pilsner malt beneath. It’s acidic in the way of raw yeast but it’s not ruinous for the beer. Medium-light sweetness with rigid bitterness. It’s creamy and soft and round in the mouth given the amount of yeast in suspension, and while the impression of hop and malt is muddled, the whole effects is still enjoyable in a juicy-citric-zesty way. No noticeable flaws, had good flavor balance and the finishing bitterness is nice. Easy drinking cloudy lager.

Yellow color, slightly hazy, small white head. Grainy, cardboardish nose. Medium-bodied. Standard decent Zwickel: sweet maltyness, some grainy notes, nice bitterness in the finish. Lingering bitterness in the aftertaste with some butterscothy notes in the background.
(bottle) Cloudy, yellow coloured hue with lots of floaties and a big and bubbling foamy head. Yeasty and slightly sweaty (barnyard) malty, slightly grainy aroma with a tinge of citrus and herbal hops. Moderately bitter flavour, light bodied with a medium carbonation. Pale malt-character, yeasty and slightly grainy taste with rural notes of barnyard and citrus; dry and quite bitter, slightly citric and herbal hoppy finish. Has some character. 16.XI.09
