Malty, some fruit, pretty sweet with caramel particularly evident - really nice beer. cubs (10742) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUL 26, 2012
Bottle @ Uncle Chris’ house in Fürth. Hazy dark brown appearance with a light brown head. A touch burnt, toasty malty, light caramel, nutty, herbal aroma. Well carbonated. Somewhat nutty, toffee, toasty malty, floral hoppy flavor. Not bad. Koelschtrinker (22090) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUL 25, 2012
Milder Malzbeginn, weich. Im Mittelteil nahe der Wässrigkeit, geringe Röstnoten im Hintergrund. Das Bier ist insgesamt leider zu mild um wirklich zu gefallen, die Grundnoten sind dabei aber harmonisch. Schade. 8/6/8/7/9/7

bottle from landbierparadies. copperish with a disinterested beige head; aroma of old well and chocolate-coated strawberries; slightly tinny with stewed pears and some toffee; could use a bit more hop character Bov (13354) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - DEC 11, 2011
courtesy of Philipp and Thomas - clear and bright ruby-brown beer under a fast vanishing head; aroma of toffee with light earthy tones; medium-bodied, some tartness but pretty tasteless overall; quite dry earthy malty finish with lingering notes of caramel TBone (18568) - Pori, FINLAND - NOV 3, 2011

Clear ruby color, steady cream beige head, lace. Slightly caramelly-toasted aroma but mostly cardboardish woodyness. Light to medium-bodied. Toasted caramelly flavor with low woody hoppyness. Kind of chocolaty. Standard dunkel.

Bottled as "Export Dunkel" (BB 12/2005)
Dark ruby brown, good creamy tanned head. Lemony hoppy nose. Medium-bodied, malty, some bitterish hops in the finish. Good balanced dunkel, which is finishing to dry, a bit roasted malty notes. Drinkable but not unforgettable.
Bottle by 18.01.12. Nose is sweet with caramel and meat must. Ruby pour with a lacing and rocky tan head. Tastes sweet with earth and caramel, there’s some dark almost-coffee and churlish roast, toasted grains and a touch of that musty spagh funk. Medium body with persistent gentle prickling carb. A lot of nice Maillard complexity here, a superb Dunkel crossed with some interesting cellar qualities.

50cl bottle from Biezwerg. BBE 21092011. Poured dark brown with a frothy, slowly disappearing beige head. Caramel, smoke, earthy aroma, very tempting. Flavor is light smoke, roasted malt and instant coffee. Finish is long, with instant coffee taste that stays forever. Excellent dunkel, one of the better I have tasted in a long time. Body is maybe on the thinner side, but overall very delicious.
