50cl bottle from Biezwerg. BBE 21092011. Poured dark brown with a frothy, slowly disappearing beige head. Caramel, smoke, earthy aroma, very tempting. Flavor is light smoke, roasted malt and instant coffee. Finish is long, with instant coffee taste that stays forever. Excellent dunkel, one of the better I have tasted in a long time. Body is maybe on the thinner side, but overall very delicious. Geiserich (4519) - Linz, AUSTRIA - DEC 11, 2007
Bottled: Dark chestnut color with a foamy, off-white head. Smokey malt aroma with notes of nuts. Flavor is medium sweet, malty, fruity fresh and light sourly. Smoke, hop and roasted malt in the end. Hop and roasted malt bitter balanced finish. MoritzF (9901) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - JUL 26, 2006
(from the tap at the Biergarten of the brewery) Clear, dark brown with a ruby shine and medium-sized beige foamy head. Very aromatic nose of dark and toasted malt with toffee, milk chocolate and a dense herbal hoppy note. Bittersweet flavour, medium to light body, smooth carbonated mouthfeel. Malt-accented, toasty taste; dry, malty and moderately bitter finish with chocolate in the aftertaste. Clean, well-rounded and quaffable (17.06.2006). Bottle. Sweet chocolate caramel with spicy grassy hops aroma. Reddish brown color with large head. Sweet chocolate caramel malt and light bitter grass hops flavor. Very nice - more like a dunkel than a Kellerbier.

On tap at Battersea Beer Festival 2006. Deep chestnut with lasting creamy head. Some sweetish malt on aroma, nice enough in mouth some cream, some smoke, a little burnt malt, drinkable inoffensive. Hoppy finish, not as much flavour as you might expect. Just enough on the finish to keep you interested. Slightly chewy finish. I think Duff and I decided that we could end up drinking quite a bit of this. pivnizub (10610) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JUN 7, 2006
On tap at the Brewery: Dark coloured; thick sweet-malty nose, shy bitterness too; small, stable head; robust bitter-sweet flavour, soft MF; lingering, bitter-aromatic finish. An excellent, spicy brew....................
