COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Stout was first produced in 2008 and was the first Icelandic Stout. Dark, roasted aroma, espresso beans, dark chocolate and cocoa are words that can be used to describe our Stout. It is intense in texture and character, yet relatively easy drinking and balanced.

Ernest (7890) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 13, 2013
Bottle from Vinbudin in Reykjanesbaer (BB Oct 2015). Head is initially average sized, frothy, brown, mostly lasting. Body is black. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted/burnt grain, coffee, bitter chocolate, Oreo cookie), lightly hoppy (herbs, grapefruit). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. All righty, now we’re talking...this is quite solid and very drinkable. Energetic aroma that’s got a little more malt depth than your basic stout. Good finishing bitterness and enough malt sugars leftover to provide a pretty rich drinking experience for its size. Good stuff.

3fourths (9367) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 16, 2013
Bottle dated October 2013. Dark brown body is more like a brown porter or brown ale than a stout. Roasted barley, dark chocolate and starchy malt-forward aroma with notes of fish scales and accents of black patent char that show through when it opens a bit. Medium-light body, nicely dry, some starch / husk character but it’s minor. Not coffee like but certainly focusing on roasted barley. Not complex or layered but well-executed and respectable and definitely drinkable in quantity if I’m in the right mood.

Bottle from Myvatn Nature Baths, Iceland. Pours black with a thick tan head that fades quickly to lighter tan lacing that stays till the end. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, in particular espresso, dark chocolate, wood some herbs. Flavour is a little sweet with a moderate bitterness that has a long finish and an aftertaste a little like grass. Almost no carbonation and fairly thin bodied. Easily drinkable.

Flaska 33 cl. Svart öl med litet smutsvitt skum. Är förvånansvärt svaga dofter, men kaffe och mörk choklad finns där. Smaken är mycket bättre, det är sött och det är mörk choklad, vanilj och röda bär.

Countbeer (6589) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - OCT 25, 2012
Bottle: Thanks Tim: Medium sized, airy but pretty vast tan/light brown head which slowly changes into a thick sticky lacing, on top of a deep dark black ish colored beer. Smell malts, stingy malts, dust, coffee, cinnamon, wood, autumnal herbs and toasted herbs and some toasted/roasted malts. Taste toasted herbs, light roasted malts, dusty spices and some dry wood notes, some darker chocolate, light bitterness and a lighter darkened sweetness, some hints of coffee, coffee roast, roasted barleys and roasted herbs. Well balanced and pretty smooth. The aftertaste is light roasty with some grass tints and a light bitterness. Low to medium carbo, soft mouthfeel with a light spicy sprinkle, medium body and a light watery but a bit more creamy texture. Interesting beer and very decent considering the alcohol percentage.
