Some Liquor Store in DC six-pack ($11.99): Pours pale gold with your white head. Aroma is of slight skunk, grains, and a modicum of hops. Taste is pretty similar to Heineken, but perhaps with less of that rotten vegetable flavor. Obviously, this is really easy drinking, but ultimately utterly boring. A disappointing beer for my first sampling of Iceland. Although frankly, I knew what I was getting in to. blipp (9929) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 12, 2011
Bottle. Pours golden yellow with a white head. Corny sweet and grainy. Drinkable, but a little dirty. Alphadelic (2249) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 11, 2010
Quite a standard big-brew-style lager with plenty of honey notes to keep you occupied but not for that long. Drinkable but boring. natejgood (533) - Bozeman, Montana, USA - OCT 31, 2010
This is a pale lager much like Heineken or Becks, but it has a bit more flavor and is less skunky than those beers. This beer is also a bit sweeter and has more body than the two previously mentioned beers. It is also fairly easy to drink. ganache (6089) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 24, 2010
Another can split with kuphish and his beloved. Very pale yellow golden, lets all light through, ephemeral white head. Sweet malty nose with a very light sting of citrus rising up through its spine. Medium-dry with time, has the overwhelming disappointment of grain husks and mass production. Very, very light bitterness with a touch of wet cardboard, perhaps corn. Lighter side of medium. I’ve had worse, as this doesn’t rank among the offensive, but DAMN, is there any good beer coming out of Iceland these days?

Bought a large can in Iceland and poured into a pint glass to drink. The beer has a clear gold color with a few rising bubbles, a foamy-bubbly white head with decent retention and little cling. The aroma was primarily grainy and grassy hops with a touch of straw and a faint hit of malt. The taste was mostly bitter with a grainy flavor, and had a sour element too it as well. The beer had pretty good liveliness and carbonation, and was fairly dry, with a slight thinness. ClubGonzo (5683) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 27, 2010
This is a very, very standard industrial pale lager. Not much to say here, really. Faint traces of metal and wet cardboard makes this yet another beer Iceland does not impress me with. Travlr (26437) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 14, 2010
Bottle at Bar Pilar. Very pale yellow, thin white head, scant lacing. Aroma of burnt rice. Taste is bitter and acidic, start to finish. No character or complexity. Best skipped. KnutAlbert (6798) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 9, 2009
Can from Reykjavik airport.
Thin, beer, and the maize did not help much. Metallic flavour, very pale. lassem (660) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 23, 2009
Served on tap at the very fine café Prikid in the center of Reykjavik. A very pale lager that pours a thin yellow with a thin head. No aroma. Notes of citrus and bread in the taste. This is very uninteresting at its best. Very waterish, The location is the best thing to be said about it. Beers was banned in Iceland until 1989.. apearently they still have some hurdles to get past due to the 74years of illegalicy.
