Angeloregon (2055) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 17, 2007
Drank on vacation in Iceland in 2005. Another pale, straw skunky poo lager. Full of corn and other malt replacers. This beer is as funky and dull as they come...well, still better than Budweiser (I think).

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2007 Bottle as extra from Maria to grab me Iceland. I had a flashback to the steel reserve I rated earlier this summer. Corn and adjunt nose that is thck and sweet. A big corn and malt push with no dicernable hops at all. Some grassiness but that is probably general funk not t be confused with hops. Body waters up pretty quick for thinner finish. Not absolutly horrible, but not to0 far from 40 Oz. status.

(Draught at Saga Hotel, Reykjavik, Iceland, 30 Aug 2007) Pale yellow colour with white head. Malty nose with slight notes of grassy hops (well hidden but identifiable). Same goes with the taste: malty with modest notes of grassy hops. Definitely on the thin side. Nothing wrong with it, just plain boring.

Sadly, this one reflects the current state of beer brewing in Iceland. No worse than many other pale lagers and actually better than some of the widely sold such beers in the US. Can be consumed on a hot summer day (not that anyone would experience such days in Iceland).

Bottle at Brickskeller. Boring beer, with that said it’s about as good as a regular pale lager can hope to be.

faroeviking (10664) - FAROE ISLANDS - JAN 28, 2007
Bottle. Pale yellow colour with a short white bubbly head. Bit sweet and grainy aroma. Flavour is grainy, sweet and bit hoppy. Nothing special about this brew.

I actually had this twice (why?, poured it out both times) from a 16.9oz can, brought back by a co-worker of mine. Thanks for the gesture, hehe. Aroma, flavor, palate: all stale crap, adjunct ridden, DMS, blech. Appearance: metallic yellow urine, gross. Whatever.

PorterPounder (7763) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 21, 2006
RFD - Washington DC - 11.2 oz bottle. Typical northern European light lager. Very pale golden pour with a pithy white head. Skunky aroma with hints of alcohol. Corny flavor with hints of mown grass and a touch of honey sweetness. Thinnish mouthfeel. Not worth th3 $475 I paid for it - but I added another country!

Bottle drank at the Brickskeller during RBSG 06 DC Weekend Pellucid yellow, clear, light head and lacing. Nose of corn, stale hop, metal. Boring. The flavor is like fresh horse droppings and hay, but then add water. The finish is stale. eh. Iceland.

duff (5484) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 7, 2006
Bottle. Very pale gold in colour. This was extremely bland, quite clean and watery, with pretty much zero flavour to speak of. Faintly sweet pale malt and a barely recognisable grassy hop finish. Bland.
