2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
(Bottle, courtesy of Nuffield) Pours a pale yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of wet grass and light florals. Watery flavor, but not offensive.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Very light yellow color, little head. Stunningly mild, little flavor or aroma. In fact, the closest comparison that I can think of for this is Michelob Ultra. But it’s from Iceland so it must be bristling with sophistication.

Bottle. Nose-once, as a child on a frozen day, I played on a lake of frozen sewage from a busted sewage line. This smells exactly like it did. Very, very pale body with no head. Taste-what taste? <etal, light almond, corn flakes. Blah.

Palest straw. Thin and edgy heaad. Cornish nose. Surprisingly not real bad. Slight cardboard but not heavy.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
(33cl bottle, best by 3/06) White head atop a crystal clear straw body. Aroma is medium sweet, grain, light bread, skunk. Taste is medium sweet, grain, some corn, apple, light astringency, no bitterness. Light body, fairly clean. A generic pale lager, about the only redeeming value is that it gives me another country.

Not the greatest way to get a party started, although in the famous words of my friend, it will get you drunk. (spoken loudly in a quiet room full of fingerpainting children-which didn’t actually happen, we were in a bar with people that seemed like children interested in fingerpainting, I personally do not enjoy fingerpainting, but I digress). At any rate, waterly bland, boring are the words to describe this one.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pale lager, sweet - both a little malty and also corny; dusty hop pepper at the end. Not quite "bad", but fairly close. Bottle at the Brickcellar, DC.

I cannot tell this apart from Viking Lager. Are they the same? Bland, watery, fizzy, touch of floral hops. Disappointing stuff, for sure.
Earlier Rating: 7/15/2005 Total Score: 1.4
Indistinguishable from Eglis Gull. Fizzy, golden, watery, bland. Ack. Touch of floral hoppiness.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
(Bottle 33 cl) Pale pilsener golden with a very small, lightly creamy head. Lovely hop-aromatic nose, but it’s gone in no time leaving no traces whatsoever. Some sweetness from the malt and some stickiness from the corn. Only a weak hint of hops. 230605
