A: a lot of fruity esters, banana, peach, BE yeast, hint of floral.
T: malty, fruity, a bit spicy, bready, yeasty, medium body, medium to high carbonation, not specially good and not memorable for me, 33cl bottle from Carrefour market – St. Michel @ Etterbeek, Brussels.

8.5%ABV. Abbey Tripel
Poured out gold. 6ºSRM.
Nose is sweet and beery. The dusty, cement-like aroma of the Belgian Tripel is noticed only on the end because the overall nose is so sweet and pale malt. There may be some very nice soda and light sweet aromas on the nose.
Mouthfeel is light. Palate has some solid pale malt and you have to struggle to get the beery roots of the palate. For me, there is white bread, fresh baguette, steamed rice cakes and sticky rice. There is some alcoholic bitter, but there is something more, The palate is bitter with ume, dry wood, dust. I get a hint of green plum skin tannin. There is some fresh fruit on the palate with unripe plums and there are fresh green grapes in the end, especially with the skins.
Finish is predictably clean after the bitter Woody attenuation near the end of the palate.

Sample. Clear yellow with big white head. Aroma is sugar, apricot, wet cardboard, orange peel and banana. Taste is also sugar with bad sugar aftertaste. Nothing fancy or worth trying again. Svesse (8572) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JAN 7, 2016
(Bottle, Delirium Café, 17 Oct 2015) Golden amber colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with dried fruit, candy sugar and spicy hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of tropical fruit, candy sugar, dried pineapple and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well made tripel, one of the better from Huyghe. Nice one.

Aroma reminds me of cheese, but I can’t remember which one.
Not a song taste, except for the 8.5 pct of alcohol. So not the best idea to drink it while eating some cheese.
Not a bad beer but nothing to make me want to drink another one. florent.janssens (347) - - OCT 22, 2015

Slow gusher alert!
Clear orange beer, huge aery fluffy white head, unstable, dissipates quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: very oxidized, bit skunky, hay, malts, cow fodder. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet, oxidized, orange peel, soft bitterness, bit metallic. Aftertaste: very boring, oxidized, some caramel, little bitter.
Tripel taken over from Villers when it ceased activities in 1998. Typical cliché tripel, yeasty, estery with bready malts, cheesy aroma and strongish carbonation; warming alcohol in the finish and caramelly sweetness cloying a bit. Not well-balanced, another disappointing Huyghe product.
