Lost and then re-found notes from Jan/Feb of 2007. Cloudy amber-gold with a pleasing white dense head. Aroma is quite hoppy with very little malt presence. Quite quaffable and could hold its own against some of the giants of this style. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - APR 15, 2007
Clear dark amber body with beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit/pine, caramel, light butterscotch. Taste is medium sweet, earthy/grapefruit, caramel. Light-medium body. jasonp (1581) - Ashburn, Virginia, USA - MAR 22, 2007
UPDATED: SEP 2, 2007 This version of the "Point of Rocks Pale Ale" is an American Pale Ale variety and man, is it solid - very sierra nevada-esque. Pours a darker shade of gold with a white head. Plesant floral cascade hop aroma with a touch of simcoe/amarillo-like tropical fruit character. Flavor has notes of light caramel, grapefruit, pine, peach, mango, clean American ale yeast, light bread and a touch of wood. Plenty of satisfying APA bitterness in here too. Not harsh and very very drinkable. Medium bodied with a smooth texture and medium carbonation. Excellent, excellent American Pale Ale. KUEric (977) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - FEB 18, 2007
I liked this one! A very west coast IPA-esque EPA. From what I understand they tweaked the reciepie on this one. Maybe that why I felt like it wasn’t nearly as balanced as the other raters. Definitely some serious hops!
