Draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear red color with a thin white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of caramel, toasted malts, toffee. The taste is toffee, caramel, berries and faint herbal notes. Medium bodied. Nice beer. Elwood (3336) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - NOV 11, 2012
Serving: Draft at the brewpub. Like the description says, it’s a nice mahogany color with a slight light tan head. The nose has a hint of earth and smoke. Relatively light nose overall. The flavor comes across as boozier than it is. Smoked malt and malt sweetness come through with an almost woody taste. It’s full bodied with lower carbonation. It comes across as a bit under attenuated.
