Its a bit smoke/rubbery in the beginning. Like s,oked plastic or something. It has a fruity tartness and eventually the smoke is more malt-like. It is bad the first few sips but turns into a decent one. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - OCT 14, 2010
(Draught) Pours a hazy amber-brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of mustiness, subtle smoke, raisins, chocolate, and marshmallows. Flavor of raisins, dates, earthiness, banana, and smoke. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 5, 2010
On tap at Vintage. Poured deeper reddish-amber with a creamy whitish head. The aroma picked up deeper caramel and chocolate sweetness upfront with bananas, biscuits, and raw wheat behind.. light peaty accents.. loved it! The flavor found tangy raisins and darker fruit plus a hit of alcohol over chocolate and biscuity sweetness.. a little greener alcohol and some smoked malt on the back.. long, memorable finish. Creamy, rolling carbonation on the palate.. medium-bodied.. a little sharp at times, but very good overall. blutt59 (6565) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 20, 2010
on tap, poured a golden amber color with a nice smokey campfire and sweet fruit cocktail aroma, flavors are smokey malts, toast, plum, tropical fruits, finish is malty nuplastikk (6317) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 31, 2011
Draft at Vintage. Unfiltered burgundy-brown, thin oily head. The firkin, however, has a steady creamy head. Sweet licorice and brown sugar aroma. Sweet, a little brutal on the alcohol. Doesn’t really nail the style, too acidic and alcohol laced. Lacks the bready, yeasty thickness. Sub par offering on a style I’m usually on board for.

On draught at the Vintage brewpub in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear dark burn brown colored brew with a slow dissolving off-white head that leaves behind some excellent lacing and a white ring. Aroma of toasted and burnt citrus wood, caramel malt, banana esters and a hint of plum. Taste is medium bodied, a hint of smoked malt, yeast, banana esters and some tropical fruit. Finish is semi-sweet with a nice aftertaste of smoked malt, banana esters and some clove. Actually this was quite enjoyable and ready for the autumn season. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 19, 2012
On tap at Vintage Brewing. Dark murky brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of smoked malts, banana, rye, yeast and mild spices. My problem with this style is that the smoke always overtakes everything underneath but this one allowed the aromas and flavors to come through. Taste of smoked malts, mild banana, rye and mild spices. madvike (3274) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 22, 2011
On tap at the brewpub - Pours hazy brown apple cider with a ring of white head. Light sweet smoke on the nose mingling with a smooth wheat. Taste is same, like a real sweet, boozy hefe with a mellow smokiness. Pretty highly carbonated, but not biting. Pretty impressed with this one, as Vintage’s smoked beers have been hit or miss so far. jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - JAN 19, 2013
Draft at Vintage. Pretty darn good beer. I get a lot of rasins and chocolate with a good bit, if subtle, notes of smoke. I could easily drink this again. cbfobes (2883) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - AUG 21, 2010
On tap at Vintage, pours dark amber with nice white head that laces through out the glass, aroma is malty with smoked wood, very nice overall, it has a great malt backbone with a strong smokey finish, nice, very nice.
