Sampled from the tab at the brewpub. Pours a clear red with a tan head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a good amount of light grassy and floral hops with a bit of backing bread. Flavor starts with bread but has some grassy hops and light fruits in the finish.

Tap at the brewpub. Mostly clear red-amber pour with a very soapy/clingy off-white head. Huge complex hop nose - pine, citrus, grass - cool. Medium creamy palate. Well balanced multiple-hop taste. Again, pine and citrus, plus some bready malts. Very well done!

Growler courtesy cbfobes! Amazing tropical fruit aroma with grapefruit, pineapple, guava, and more - reminds me of CCB Jai Alai. Sweet hoppy flavor loaded with tropical fruits, chocolate, and more... this is really fucking good. Holy shit.

On tap at Vintage. Poured clear reddish-amber with a creamy whitish head. The aroma picked up sweet darker fruit and caramel with accents of vanilla and earthy hops.. sweet overall and enjoyable. The flavor found sweet-ish dark fruit and caramel at the core.. fruit and peppery bitterness surrounded, amped up by a hit of alcohol warmth.. sweet and fairly hot on the finish. Medium-bodied and a little tart on the palate.. near-cloying on the back-end.. OK feel and flow beyond that.

On draught at the Vintage Brewing Company’s brewpub in Madison, Wisconsin. Attended their Grand Opening on May 2, 2010. This red ale pours a clear reddish amber colored brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a thin ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of heavy Cascade, Chinook and Cluster hops. Lot of citrus with a hint of caramel malt. Taste is fruity citrus with a hint of tangerine and caramel malt, Finish has a surprise light finish in texture but still the flavor strength of a strong Pale Ale. Of of my favorites of the Grand Opening event.

On tap at Vintage brewpub. Fire red with a creamy beige cap that emits some frothy lacing. Aroma of caramel, woodsy hops and some citrus to boot. Taste is woodsy and piney and balanced nicely with crystal malt, mild citrus and a bit of peppery spice. Decent with nominal bitterness. Speaking of better off red, Go Badgers!

pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 10, 2011
On tap at vintage. 4oz taster pour... Reddish caramel brown hue, semi-transparent but just barely, and topped with a creamy off-white head... Smooth malty and an earthy piney bitterness to coincide with the aforementioned... Flavors are mild and earthy with an equal balance of earthy citrus hops and a deeper malt profile. Medium bodied with a mild to medium level of carbonation.

madvike (3264) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 7, 2010
On tap at the Grand Opening - Pours amber, with a very small white head. Nicely hopped, with light spiciness and fruit on the nose, and just a bit of malt poking through. The hops are smooth and balanced in the taste, and it’s fairly grassy and fruity. Sweet malt integrates well with the hops, and everything just seems to fit. Smooth and well-carbonated--I liked this one.

From notes. Draft at Vintage. This is a kickin brew. Loads of tropical fruits and citrus mixed with some chocolate. Interesting and awesome!
