A cask ale. Pours black with a think brown tinted head. A dominant hop aroma, citrusy. Start of with a dominant citrus hop flavor, not overbearing, and hints of chocolate roasted malts. Medium body, creamy, hop bitter finish. Not bad. This style was just in BYO, so this is timely. I like this and hope he makes it again, or I will have to try and brew something like this. madvike (3260) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 4, 2010
On cask at the brewpub - Pours clear cola with a light brown head. Lots of citrus hops on the nose (which my wife called "cat urine"--I couldn’t disagree, but oddly they still smelled great), along with some light chocolate. Taste is lots of caramel and some light roasted malt with a smooth, roasty coffee finish. Grassy hops, light fruitiness, and chocolate round out the finish. Slightly watery, but the mouthfeel is pleasant. Really complex, but could have been a little more focused and integrated. Intriguing beer, however!
