Summer ales are a little like English pale ales only lighter, easier on the hops, and crafted for maximum refreshment. Ours features flavorful "Maris Otter" malt and subtle, woodsy "Northdown" hops, and was left unfiltered to retain some lovely fruity ester aromatics. Mild and easy-drinking!

On tap at Vintage Brewpub. Amber with next to no head. Aroma is grainy and noble with mild fruit way in the background. Taste is blah with noble hops and pale malt, stale socks, minimal bitterness and grains.

Sampled at Great Taste. A sweetish blonde with some fruity aroma and a moderate bitterness. Was still trying to sort out its decentness when I realized it was gone.

Sampled on draught at the Vintage brewpub in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear golden pale colored brew with an average off-white head that quickly dissipates and leaves behind some spotty lacing and a thin white ring. Aroma of golden grain malt, a hint of dry English hops and a touch of citrus. Taste is light to medium bodied, flavors of golden grain malt, some lemon/citrus zest, mild yeast and a touch of orange. Finish is semi-sweet, light with a short lived mild bitterness.

On draft at the brewpub. Pours golden with little head. Aroma of mild hops. Very easy drinking. A little too much of the grass and lemon for me.

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2012 Pours clear gold, with a thin head. Pilsner aroma, hint of citrus hop. Pilsner flavor - semi sweet, moderate- high citrus hop flavor. Medium-light body, good hop bitterness, dry finish. Not bad but not my style.

On cask at the brewpub, with Millennium hops - Pours super hazy light amber with a little foamy white head. Light floral/perfume hops and orange juice on the nose. Light yeast and mild maltiness. Taste is pretty much the same--really light yeast and bread dough, with the same floral/perfume hops and orange juice. It sounds like a weird combo, but the orange juice note really adds something to this. Really liked this one.

On tap at Vintage 7/20/11, pours a hazy golden/orange with a nice whtie head and lacing through out the entire glass, aroma is crisp and clean with notes of fruit upfront with a finish of grain and grass, the flavor has a nice zest of lemon mixed in with grassy notes, kind of a soapy finish but still pretty nice.
