At Brewpub. Decent beer, would have liked to have seen more malt to balance the hops. Serving: Tap muzzlehatch (4950) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 26, 2016
Draught pint at the brewpub, September 23rd. Lasting creamy head tops the light amber body - paler than most ESBs I’ve had...nose of toasty malts, light grassiness and, interestingly, blueberries - I kept nosing it for several minutes and yep, them blueberries never went away completely...woody, twiggy character dominates the body, like licking bark and with almost no corresponding sweetness - where’s the malt?...it does improve a bit over time - of course it was served a bit too cold - but 10 minutes really only opens up the nose and the body stays too stolidly dry and harsh...also just a bit on the thin side; average carbonation. Looked and smelled nice, but ultimately...ehhh. crossovert (12631) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 25, 2015
Draf.t Amber/golden pour. This is a very brewpubby beer, the diacetly is mildly creeping through and it jsut tastes of house yeast. jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - JAN 15, 2013
Draft @ Vintage. This is a very solid beer. Lots of grassy citrus hops. Bready and malty. Overall, great! esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 4, 2012
On tap at Vintage Brewpub. Clear copper with a thin tan head. Faint aroma with pale malts and mild fruit. Taste of light fruit, tannins, malt and a bit of viniousness. Minimal bitterness.

Sampler flight on tap at Vintage Brewery (Madison, WI). Pours a rich amber golden hue, darker elements offer a good hazy body with frothy offwhite head atop that dies to a ring and laces ok. Aromas are touches of biscuits, toast, bready malts. Gentle growing dry bitter hops, earthy and floral slanted. Some gentle doughy yeast. Initial is lighter bodied overall with a distinct lemon grass element up frontzn dry floral and earthy hops offer some bitterness, quickly moving into some mellow toasty and bready malts. Lighter overall, some toast, some mellow sweetness, fairly crisp and clean, lighter bodied overall. A bit dry and bitter, light bodied. Pretty much enjoyed as far as a Bitter should go, a touch of girth puts it in the ESB range, I guess.. Solid. deyholla (11486) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 7, 2012
Sampled from the tap at the brew pub. Pours a clear amber gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a light grassy note with a hint of grapefruit and a grain backing. Flavor has a good amount of bread with a note of citrus and floral hops. MrPickles (438) - Waunakee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 19, 2012
Sample size at the brewpub. This is another that just isn’t my style. good enough, but I will always take something else. triguy84 (235) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 5, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2012 Clear gold with thin head. Light sweet malt aroma, my nose is stuffy though. Moderate malt flavor with good hop flavor, resin . Medium body, moderate bitterness. I’m not a ESB fan, so discount my rating. This is drinkable though. drowland (8629) - Georgia, USA - OCT 22, 2011
10/22/11. On tap at the brewpub. Clear dark golden pour with a small khaki head. Fruity, bready aroma with a touch of bitter hops. Bolder malt flavor with a big, grassy hop kick. Not too shabby.
