Draft pours amber with a off white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, earthy and grains. Taste is very nice. Skyview (6115) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - AUG 22, 2010
On draught at the Vintage brewpub in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden amber colored brew with hint of copper highlights. Head is thick and slowly dissipating that leaves some excellent lacing. Aroma has a nice balance of fruity and citrus, a hint of cotton candy and multi-grain malt. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of dry roasted multi-grain malt, dried apples, with some mild bitterness. Finish is semi-dry and continues the mild bitterness with some biscuit malt aftertaste. A solid ESB throughout. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAY 6, 2012
Sampler flight on tap at Vintage Brewery (Madison, WI). Pours a rich amber golden hue, darker elements offer a good hazy body with frothy offwhite head atop that dies to a ring and laces ok. Aromas are touches of biscuits, toast, bready malts. Gentle growing dry bitter hops, earthy and floral slanted. Some gentle doughy yeast. Initial is lighter bodied overall with a distinct lemon grass element up frontzn dry floral and earthy hops offer some bitterness, quickly moving into some mellow toasty and bready malts. Lighter overall, some toast, some mellow sweetness, fairly crisp and clean, lighter bodied overall. A bit dry and bitter, light bodied. Pretty much enjoyed as far as a Bitter should go, a touch of girth puts it in the ESB range, I guess.. Solid. Brigadier (3780) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - AUG 18, 2010

Sample number two was a beer that caught my eye at the festival. Due to time constraints (and the knowledge it was here) I never got around to getting a pour. I wish I would have snagged one as I was leaving. Light and refreshing it has a good balance of flavor that does not cling to the palate but doesn’t bore you either. This is one of those fallback safe beers that every brewpub should offer.
Aroma / Appearance - Semi-transparent coppery fluid swirls around the rim with a little ring of head. Mellow caramel chews and rosy hints brighten up the afternoon. Low key and easy on the senses it still has some backbone.
Flavor / Palate - Creamy hops begin the party with a bang. It’s not like an IPA but the noble hops liven up the tongue and throat. Butterscotch, caramel, and toffee make it well rounded. The finish leaves an impression that is good enough to remember. However it doesn’t fatigue the palate such that the remainder of the samples were not enjoyable either.
Sampled from the tap at the brew pub. Pours a clear amber gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a light grassy note with a hint of grapefruit and a grain backing. Flavor has a good amount of bread with a note of citrus and floral hops.

On tap at Vintage. Liitle head with very nice lacing. Clear, dark golden coloring. Smells like a dill pickle and pepper. Reminds me of a bloody mary in beer form. Tastes just like it smells. Very interesting!! madvike (3306) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 2, 2010
On tap at the brewpub - Pours deep amber with a nice off-white creamy head. Doughy and bready malt on the nose, with light spicy hops, light fruitiness, and a touch of lemon. Taste is light malt with faint sweetness and perfumy, floral hops on the finish. Pretty harsh carbonation when cold that never really stops attacking the mouth. Distracts a lot from the experience. This is decent, but I would have liked more malt presence, especially the caramel/toffee/biscuit notes from the description. dionysus (1486) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 11, 2011
Thirsty Troll Brew Fest. Pour is amber with an off-white head. Aroma shows toffee covered biscuits as well as some nice floral hops. Flavor shows the same with an underlying grassy/herbal quality that’s not overbearing, but definately present. Overall body is light to moderate, crisp, and finishes with light bitterness. Sample size at the brewpub. This is another that just isn’t my style. good enough, but I will always take something else. esjaygee (3902) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 4, 2012
On tap at Vintage Brewpub. Clear copper with a thin tan head. Faint aroma with pale malts and mild fruit. Taste of light fruit, tannins, malt and a bit of viniousness. Minimal bitterness.
