On tap at the brewpub - Pours reddish-amber with very little head. Not much on the nose at all--some warming alcohol, apricots, melon, and a syrupy sweetness. Taste is light heat with some tropical fruit, a big sweet malt backbone, and the same syrupy, sugary sweetness. The alcohol was just how I like it, but the stickiness and sweetness was too much for me--and that’s coming from someone that like sweet beers. cbfobes (2883) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - AUG 21, 2010
On tap at Vintage, pours a hazy orange color with a white head, aroma is fully of spices with a touch of alcohol burn, taste is fruity with spices and a burn of alcohol that warms the insides, like others has a dry finish, pretty darn good. dionysus (1486) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 11, 2011
Thirsty Troll Brew Fest. Pour is orange-amber with a khaki head. Aroma is spicy with notes of dried fruit and a touch of funk. Flavor is trail mix with notes of banana chips, raisin, apple, cotton candy, clove, and a touch of earth. Overall body is moderate, somewhat sweet, and the alcohol is pretty much non existent for having such a substantial ABV. Damn good stuff. The sweetness starts to wear on me after a while, but that’s probably a good thing. MrPickles (438) - Waunakee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 19, 2012
Old ratting from draft at the brewpub. Lots of dark fruit and a touch of brown sugar.
