On nitro at Vintage in Madison, pours a reddish brown with a thick head and some lacing, aroma is of malt with a little toffee as well, the flavor is pretty boring with not a lot going on, there’s some sweet malt in there but that’s about it, decent session beer. On nitro at the brewpub - Pours a murky red...ish. Not getting much on the nose, but I only had a sample. Nothing on the taste really stands out. Not that it is bad, just no one flavor stands out. Very smooth and easy drinking. That saves this brew for me. Don’t know if I would even want to try this one if it was not on nitro. madvike (3264) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 23, 2011
On nitro at the brewpub - Pours murky mahogany with a fine-bubbled off-white head that I’d expect. Smells of perfumey hops over a light bready malt base. Taste is light, sweet malt, with light perfume hopping a light bready finish. Smooth and velvety in the mouth, but there’s just not much here. If I wanted a lightly malty beer to session or drink with food, this would be a decent choice, but I’m probably going to want something with a little more flavor.
