On tap at the brewpub - Pours black with a tan ring of head. Nose is fruity hops, roasty with light ashiness. Taste is pretty bitter and kind of astringent, with juicy pine and ashy dry roast. Slick and medium-bodied. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 19, 2013
On tap at Vintage. Poured near-black with a short-lived tan head. The aroma picked up roasted coffee and black malts joined by an interesting hit of dark fruit.. spicy on the back of the nose with pine and black pepper.. almost minty too. The flavor found lots of dry-roasted, fairly generic black malts joined by peppery and fruity yeast.. quite of bit of apple and pear skins that apparently are intentional from the hoppage.. finished very dry and roasty. Medium-bodied with low-ish carbonation.. good feel and flow overall.. unique, and I enjoyed it.
