On draft at Vintage Brewing. Aroma of resin, roasted malts. Pours like 10/30 oil. Taste like burnt bitter hops mixed with roasted malts. Bit of citrus giving it a smooth palate. nuplastikk (6358) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 4, 2013
Tap at Vintage. Opaque brown-black body, steady respectable beige head. I’m thinking this is my first Belgian Black IPA, and certainly applaud Vintage for that. Sticky, roasty chocolate, some peppermint bitterness. A solid Black IPA, well above the bar for the WI scene. Sweet and full bodied, well done Lubiere (14110) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 28, 2013
A deep black IPA with a thin brown head. In aroma, a herbal spiced roasted malt , grassy hops, OK. In mouth, a smooth sweet Belgian-like interpretation with fruity ester, grassy notes, nice but not what I expected. On tap at brewpub, Jan 20 2012. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 22, 2012
On tap at Stubby’s. Dark brown with a creamy tan head and a sheet of lace. Aroma of dark roasted malts, bready notes, chocolate and mild yeast. Taste of dark roasted malts, Belgian yeast, coffee and mild pine. Moderate bitterness. madvike (3280) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 16, 2012
On tap at the brewpub - Pours dark black with a small tan head. Nose is add soured dark malt, a bit of citrus hops, and light chocolate roast. Taste is lots of roasty malt, light citrus, and grassy hops. Leans toward the porter/stout side of the Black IPA spectrum, which usually isn’t my thing.

A sweet candylike presence but also some hops and a nice spicy Belgian yeast. Seems crazy on paper but it was pleasant. akoeninger (766) - Wisconsin, USA - SEP 12, 2012
Pours very dark with some white head. Aroma is a mixture of Belgium yeast and roasted malt. Hint of sweet alcohol as well. Hoppy taste up front with roasted malt coming in at the end. Crisp finish and good balance of hops and malt. The Belgium yeast is an interesting touch. cbfobes (2885) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - SEP 8, 2012
On tap at Vintage 9/8, pours a very dark brown with an off white head and some lacing, aroma is more sweet than I was expecting, chocolate ad roasted malt really comes through, the flavor has a good amount of chocolate on the front end with a bitter finish, honestly, this is pretty weird.
