From notes. Draft at vintage. Super cool brew. Tastes just like a york peppermint patty. Loads of peppermint and chocolate. Tried to get a growler but they blew the keg halfway through. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 19, 2013
On tap at Vintage Brewpub. I remember this as the first beer I saw from Vintage on their website when they opened and it made me excited to want to come to the brewpub. I wasn’t let down by Vintage, I just wish they’d open up a brewpub in the Milwaukee area, we need one here desperately. Dark brown with a thin brown cap that sticks. Candy cane aroma of heavy peppermint mixed with chocolate and some malt. Taste of roasted malt, peppermint and spearmint with chocolate and a grainy and chalky mouth-feel. drowland (8676) - Georgia, USA - DEC 28, 2010
12/25/10. Growler courtesy cbfobes! Cloudy brown pour with almost no head. Very nice peppermint aroma with layers of chocolate and more. Sweet peppermint flavor with layers of chocolate cake and crisp maltiness. Reminds me of Thin Mints. Nice! MrPickles (438) - Waunakee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 25, 2010
No porter flavor anywhere in this one. The first taste and smell is pure thin mint girl scout cookie, but on both a mix of metal and wintergreen mouthwash come into play. It gets a bit better as it warms, but there is something on the finish that is wrong. Could have been a nice beer if it was not for that. Very disappointed and this beer sounds right up my alley. On draught at the Vintage brewpub in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear cola brown colored brew with a fast dissipating off-white head that leaves behind very minimal lacing and just barely a film top. Aroma of peppermint, medicinal (fuggles-ish) and a just a touch of Jägermeister. Taste is medium bodied, a bit medicinal with mostly peppermint that over-power any porter (chocolate/dark malt) flavors. Finish has minimal bitterness and a lingering peppermint aftertaste. A slightly different approach to a Christmas porter. If it’s peppermint you crave, this will do fine.

On tap at Vintage, this is the first peppermint beer I have ever tried, pours a murky brown with a thin tan head, aroma is exactly of a peppermint patty, flavor is overally sweet with a decent chocolate finish with the peppermint taking over the entire brew, a different take on a porter, this is a desert beer for sure, made just for sipping.
