On tap at Vintage Brewing. Clear amber with a creamy tan head. Aroma of rye, sweet malt, mild citrus and floral notes. Taste of heavier rye, sweet malt, caramel, light smoke and citrus. Creamy with mild bitterness. nuplastikk (6277) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 19, 2011
Draft at VB. Red-brown color, steady thick off white head. Solid bitterness in the aroma. Pretty good, not unlike a black IPA in it;s thickness, pretty impressive depth for the moderate ABV. Sticky orange hops and gingerbread. Well executed. cbfobes (2883) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - NOV 25, 2010
On tap at Vintage, pours a hazy amber with a decent head and some lacing, aroma has nice hop touches with some floral notes, the rye really comes through in the flavor but it still has nice touches of citrus and bittering hops, pretty darn good. triguy84 (235) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 13, 2010
Pours red, slightly cloudy, a thin head. Notes of caramel, spice and citrus aroma. Nice spicy rye flavor, hidden citrus and caramel in the background. Medium body, moderate hop bitter finish. Wow, not bad. Skyview (6055) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - OCT 11, 2010
On draught at the Vintage brewery/brewpub in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-hazy copper amber colored brew with a creamy off-white head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of major three "Cs" hops. Lots of Cascade citrus with grapefruit and a hint of biscuity malt. Taste is medium to full bodied, grapefruit and citrus zest over-powers mot of the caramel and rye malt flavors. Finish is spicy bitter with a lingering hop aftertaste.
