Glowing orange burgundy. Big, steady beige head. A big funked out mess. The rye whiskey really comes through, on top of a big malty pineapple sour tinged base. Odd. A lot going on. On tap at the Big Barrel Tarrarel - Pours hazy rosy amber with a thin off-white ring of head. Nose is malt vinegar, a bready base, and a light fruitiness. Taste is the same--a little more whiskey comes through. There’s some fruity sweetness and some mild balsamic vinegar tartness. On tap at Vintage for their pre-GTMW party, pours a dark brown with almost an orange tint and a nice off white head, the aroma has a lot of whiskey but it isn’t over powering like some of their other stuff, the flavor has a good amount of sweetness on the front end with a sour and funky finish of fruit and whiskey mixing together, the oak really comes through as well. 8/10/12. 2011 vintage on tap at their pre-GTMW party. Amber pour with a small khaki head. Definite whiskey barrel in the aroma with plenty of sourness and some light caramel. On tap at Vintage Brewpub Big Barrel Tararrel. Murky brown with a thin tan topper. Aroma of rye and whiskey with tannins, wild yeast and fruity notes in the background. Taste is interesting and nicely sour. Oak, wild yeast, rye, dark fruits, vineous notes, a touch of nuts and some whiskey/bourbon. A bit of funk on the finish, nice job Vintage!
