Pour at the brew pub. You know a Rye IPA always gets my attention. Pours a nice golden color with an offwhite head. Aroma of nice, citrus hops, with touches of spicy rye. Lots of grapefruit and peach, slight woody and bready notes. Flavor is spicy, bitter, with lots of hop bitterness and nice meaty umami notes. Somewhat salty, medium bodied. Finishes bitter. This is an excellent mid-level IPA that brings a Wisconsin touch to the West Coast IPA approach. Drinkable with a nice finish that does not crush the palate it is one example of why I keep coming back to this place every year.
Aroma / Appearance - A cloudy golden base is hazy with a light film of white powder for decoration. Hints of carbonation are present. Mango, rye, and fresh citrus create this bright aroma that sticks in the air without being unbalanced or over the top.
Flavor / Palate - The bitterness is immediate from the second the first drop hits the tongue. Oak, citrus, and grapefruit appear soon after. The transitional rye flavor sweeps the excellent balance into the robust finish. With everything that is going on it is hard to pin this down exactly but whatever you call it the outcome is great.

Tap @ Vintage with nuplastikk. Pours a golden orange appearance with an off white head. A bit floral, spicy, grapefriuty citrusy aroma. A bit dank, piney hoppy, moderately fruity citrus hoppy, lightly toasted malty, earthy flavor.

On tap at the brewpub - Pours clear light amber with a thin foamy white head. nose is lightly dank hops, tons of citrus, and a dry, spicy malt base. Taste is the same--dry and really hoppy, with citrus and garlicky/dank hops on the forefront. Real fluffy body, thin with ample carbonation. A star. Draft on tap at the brewpub (Madison, WI). Stop in for lunch on the way home from Decorah. Pours a nice orange golden hue, nice haziness, brighter yet dulled glowing edges. A frothy whitish head dies to a firm layer, laces ok. A thicker ring. Aromas are firmly hoppy, fresh lemon and floral hops, medium bitterness with gentle grapefruit, gumball, and mellow tropical fruit. A bit of rye, bread, and pale malts give some sweetness, but a firmly hopped nose is what I get. Initial is lighter end of the fold, firm bitter hopping shows grapefruit rind and jjuice, florals, and medium bitterness. Dry, florals, and earthy bitter hops strike up front. Some tangerine, more grapefruit juice and rind as we round the corner. Mellow rye and bready malts stay behind. A firm and flavorful hoppin offers a good dose of fresh grapefruit and florals. Firm bitterness, touch cereal and mellow fruity elements work well. Fresh and quite drinkable, dry and bitter with some good flavors. On tap at Vintage, pours a light gold with a little bit of haze to it, no head, aroma has a ton of citrus and grapefruit, a little bit of garlic as well, flavor had some nice hop and fruit notes in the front end but the back end is almost too bitter and dry, almost like 2 different beers, had me until the finish of thinking this was awesome, but it’s just middle of the road lasminit (2) - - MAR 20, 2013 does not count
Boom. Right in your face square pig appears. Come prepared! Or just read the description before you drink it. Its hoppy. Its light.
It looks like what beer should look like. It smells like hop sex. Yes thats right the smell of two hop varieties getting it on up in that mash. Its a good thing.
The aftertaste is bitter-hop-sweet, with a perfect balance of "Mmmmm that shits good!"
Overall vintage did a good job of making me want more. Next step: taking the bus here, so I can enjoy more than two.
