IIPA meets Saison, brutality ensues. Filtered copper-tan body. Steady off-white head. Sort of upping the ante for Saison pillaging. Alcohol laced orange Saison yeast flavors. Massive and messy. Hairspray strong ale. Interesting experiment, but not that good. Soapy. madvike (3264) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 10, 2014
On tap at the brewpub - Holy crap--this was 9.5%?!? No clue. Pours golden with a filmy off-white head. Nose is fruity hops with dusty yeast, perfume, dry breadiness, and a little pine. Fruity yeast in the taste, with melon, honey, grass, and a long sweet bread finish. Biting carbonation, slick and smooth, with a fairly big body. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 5, 2014
On tap at Sugar Maple. Little Eiffel stands in the Archway. Ruddy amber with a creamy off-white crown and some lacing. Aroma is spot on to experimental style with citrus, lemon, yeast, and a bit of earthy and tropical notes. You wouldn’t know this was 9.5% as the alcohol is hidden well. It’s rather tasty too with up front yeast and fruit backed by citrus, caramel, earthy/funky notes, sweet malt, lemon and a bit of tropical fruit. Bitterness evident but not overpowering. Not a huge Belgian IPA fan but this liked this Saison/IPA combo that pays homage to the Pixies. Little Eiffel, Little Eiffel. cbfobes (2883) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - NOV 30, 2013
On tap at Vintage, I was kind of skeptical of this one at first, but this really impressed me, pours a clear bright gold with a white head and a little bit of lacing, the aroma jumps out with a ton of citrus and fruit, a little bit of barnyard funk as well, but the citrus and hops pretty much dominate, the flavor has tons of tropical fruit and citrus on the front end with a lot of hops, but the finish is still kind of sweet, kind of weird at the same time, the 9.5% is pretty much hidden, enjoyed this one.
