COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ledbury is an old market town in Herefordshire, England full of historic inns and pubs, and a beautiful, half-timber Market House dating back to 1617. It sits between the rivers Wye and Severn, surrounded by orchards growing cider apples. My first visit to Ledbury was as a brewer, to buy English hops in the autumn of 2007. I returned in 2011, a newly minted Cider-maker, to meet Tom Oliver. Tom makes traditional cider and perry in Ocle Pynchard, Herefordshire, to my palate among the very best.

The Ledbury Cider is an English-style medium cider not too dry, not too sweet. A blend of old world bittersweet apples and new world heirloom varieties are fermented with native yeast, adding a bit of farminess to the ripe apple nose.

Draught @ CBC 2015. Pours tiny hazy golden with no head worth mentioning. Smell is fruity with ripe smashed apples, hay, dry soil, minerals, kumquats, lemon peal and hitns of paper. Taste is sour and fruity. mouthfeel is crisp, dry, tart and light bodied. Finish is sour with mixed smashed apples, hay, minerals, kumqauts, lemon peal and hints of paper. Less papery, less heavy dry and more fruit than Lapinette but still only decent. Needs lots more fruit from the apples and less paper without getting sweet and less refreshing.

hotstuff (4902) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 26, 2015
Rated on 7-18-2015 at Three Rivers Brew Review, Fort Wayne, IN. This bottled cider has a white head that quickly dissipated, transparent yellow body and fast rising carbonation. The aroma is very sweet and apples. The flavor mimics the aroma. The mouthfeel is smooth and this cider is light bodied. A quaffable and easy drinking cider.
