750ml bottle. Extremely dry brew, fusel alcohol and extremely nsweetened dry earthy appple. Takes a bit to get used to but some nice caramel and vanilla flavors emerge to put a light twist on cider. rxeight (3278) - Illinois, USA - NOV 14, 2014
Pour from a 750 at fobab. Apple vinegar. Too much barrel. Gasoline. Not good. Slammed it and moved on. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - AUG 16, 2014
750 ml bottle gifted by the folks at Virtue. Thanks, guys! Shared at the New Glarus RnD Release. Pours a nice glowing cidery champagne hue, faint haze but near transparent. Frothy loose whitish head atop stays as a small ring, laces small. Aromas are firmer oak, whiskey and vanilla. Gentle spiciness, apple and a bit of tartness. Nice depth of vanillla with some apple sweetness, juice and a bit of dryness. Some deeper barrel notes without heat. Initial is lighter end with firm barrel, wet oak and tannic wood. Spirit, a bit of warmth but more vanilla, toaasty coconut and whiskey. Middle is a bit more apple driven, cidery with touches of juicy red apple, mellow tartness. Backend is dry, tannic and a bit fuzzy. Some nice apple presence mixes with the firmer barrel. I feel the barrel is potent here without being hot. Richer depth of flavors, vanilla, toasty oak and spirit with gentle apple tartness, a touch of spice, pie as we finish. Some harshness up front but grows on me.
