7- Bold mashy aroma, with a touch of yeast in the glass it’s breadier, and even had some rye notes.
4 Rich slightly hazy brown. Small beige head, continues to bubble gently to make sure it never disappears.
7 Lovely rich malty body, touch of liquorice root, more so in the one with a little yeast in. Rye breadiness through and through.
4 Full palate, crisp carbonation. Finish earthier in the yeastier glass, but liquoricy in both. Touch of tobacco too later.
14 Lovely balance, nice to see a brune that’s not too sweet.
Bottle, 75cl, courtesy of fonefan. It’s a clear, amber beer with an off-white hed. Malty, bready nose with roasted coffee-notes. A bit weak. Sweet flavor with dried fruits, bread and coffee, slightly sourish. Medium body, dry. Roasted, bitter finish. A decent beer, but feels a bit one-tracked. 090822 Benzai (16928) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - AUG 13, 2013
