Small, yellowish head, leaving some lace, over dark opaque brown beer; Chocolate, nose with some wood and browned, dried leaves, yeast. Bready, yeasty, leafy, dried fruit, woody finish and lots of malt. Well-bodied, with a small sourish CO² linging, lending quite good balance. Very nice beer, with somehow a German streak, despite the top-fermenting process. MANY THANKS TO BOTH MARC AND STEVEN! MiP (16055) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - AUG 22, 2009
Bottle, 6%. OK roasted aroma. Clear dark brown colour. Very small head. The flavour is nicely sweet, good roasted note, a bit of brown sugar. FatPhil (17334) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 11, 2011

7- Bold mashy aroma, with a touch of yeast in the glass it’s breadier, and even had some rye notes.
4 Rich slightly hazy brown. Small beige head, continues to bubble gently to make sure it never disappears.
7 Lovely rich malty body, touch of liquorice root, more so in the one with a little yeast in. Rye breadiness through and through.
4 Full palate, crisp carbonation. Finish earthier in the yeastier glass, but liquoricy in both. Touch of tobacco too later.
14 Lovely balance, nice to see a brune that’s not too sweet.
pours dark, unclear brown. Small to OK white head. Smell is mildly sweet, somewhat metallic, and not intence overall. Taste is much dark grains, and the aroma that goes with it. Surprisingly different ! Notes of chocolate, earth, some fine bitterness. Taste is complex, and different. Elegant, in a way, but perhaps it should be more intense, outspoken, Body is to the light side, as you’d expect this to be a 8 % beer given the taste. Rather high, but still OK carbo.
Very different than the rather low expectations.

Bottled. A hazy chestnut colored beer with a thin beige. The aroma has notes of caramel, nuts, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, nuts, and straw, leading to a dry roasted finish. Skinnyviking (9767) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 7, 2009
Bottle. Medium high and lasting off-white fluffy head. Hazy brown body. Aroma of apples and pears plus nuts and caramel. Flavor is relatively sweet roasted malt fruits and caramel with a low carbonation and a long aftertaste. Alcohol percentage seems just right. Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 13, 2009
