Viven porter is dark as hell and will be a good choice for porter-likers. Pleasant smell, perfect alcohol volume, good taste and bitterness.

330ml bottle pours jet black with foamy tan head. Aromas of molasses, charred wood, brown sugar and vegemite. Tastes of smoke, ash, cream and bacon, roasted malt, caramel malt and alcohol. Silky and creamy mouth feel with gentle carbonation. Long smooth savoury finish with a hint of bitterness. Lovely winter warmer.

Pours opaque black with a thick, dense head and beautiful lacing. The aroma is coffee, roasted malts, sweet chocolate. The taste is dark chocolate, coffee with milk. I didn’t get much smoke. It’s very smooth, silky on the palate, there’s gentle alcohol burning. Very nice porter.

Very dark brown, this one, almost black even. Head dark beige, rather small but never completely disappearing. Some lacing. Aroma: lots of woody smoke, some sweet undertones. Taste of smoked malts, distinct coffee-like bitterness. Mouthfeel creamy. Carbonation soft but affecting the taste a little.
