Bottle. Pours opaque black with a medium, frothy tan head, medium retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is smoked meat and sweet wood with roast and chocolate malt, earthy and herbal hops with prunes and figs. Flavor is smoked meat and dark roast malt dominant with light hops and bitterness, sour dark fruity esters and a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

Well-carbonated carbon black body with a dark, foamy cocoa head. Dry black patent and wood sour nose with wild roasty tartness-quite lovely. Medium-bodied, ash in the back of the palate, while black licorice licks roll off the front of the tongue. Burnt cinders and ashy finish. While the aroma was promising, the body is overly burnt and smoky throughout.

I tasted the smoked porter version at the Brugs Bier Festival 2017 and had to try it twice it was so good. Smooth and with complex but balanced flavours. i could drink this all night, which is unusual for a porter, I believe. The best porter I have tried ever.

Smutty but very good. Loaded with sweet peat and wood and smoke. Maybe a touch on the sweet side to be proper but excellent drinking.

KRIEK Belgian Pub & Cafe, 06.01.2017. W aromacie paloność i delikatne wędzenie. W smaku wytrawne, palone, z wyraźnymi choć nienachalnymi nutami wędzenia. Ciut za mało ciałka, ciut za mało głębi. W sumie niezłe ale bez chęci na powtrkę.

Bottle from The Bottle Lab, Leek. Pours a deep brown colour with a foamy mocha head. Aroma of roasted malts, smoke, peat, some chocolate, slight coffee and subtle sour cherry. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, some smoke, slight charcoal, a little dark fruit and subtle liquorice. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, roasted bitterness in the finish. A dry, bitter porter with roastiness and smoke dominating. Subtle chocolate and fruit tones too. A very well made porter. Nice.

33cl bottle. Appearance is dark with medium brown head. Taste is medium. Body is medium. Carbonation is somewhat medium. I think it would win if it was a little bit lower. Aroma is smoke, roasted, chocolate, nutty, fruity, liquorice.
