Smooth and yeasty flavoured into a sweet and citric finish. Ungstrup (37862) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - DEC 23, 2005
[I bought my bottle in 2003 and am drinking it the month it expires December 2005] It was very lively when opened. A deep red beer with a slight sediment hanging in the beer and with a thick long lasting brown head. The aroma is powerful with notes of wood, over ripe fruits, prunes, and raisins. The flavor is sweet and very nice with strong notes of over ripe fruit - especially peaches, but also prunes and raisins - almost like a Madeira, with the alcohol lying in the background. The end is very complex with notes of cloves, oranges, and nuts on a woody background. This goes right up there among my favorite Dutch beers. oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - MAR 15, 2009
Bottled (from Cracked Kettle). Amber colour, mediumsized fluffy beige head that leaves nice lace. Aroma is fruity and flowery hops along with some hints of spices and yeast. Flavour is toffee, some spices along with fruity and flowery hops. Alcohol gives a nice warming touch in the throat on it’s way down. Fruity hoppy finish and aftertaste. Comes quite close to some IPA:s with it’s strong fruity hoppyness. Travlr (25185) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - OCT 2, 2012

Cloudy mid-brown beer. Big frothy off white head. Soft palate turning frothy. Sweet malt. Toffee caramel. Undertone of sweet medicine and creamy red fruits. A little aniseed alcohol as well. This beer came out of left field and pleasantly surprised me!
Bottle, 9.5%. Violent gusher, just goes on. OK malty aroma. Disgusting-looking muddy brown colour, lots of yeast floating around. The head is big and quite stable with bits of yeast mixed in. Luckily, the flavour is a lot better than the appearance. Quite malty and slightly sweet, fruity with some sweet spices and a good amount of alcohol. bierkoning (13387) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - MAY 10, 2004
Beer gughes slightly, big head that fades away only slowly. Nutmeg and cinnamon. Malty and very alcoholic. Warming like old rum. Has a slight resemblance to a cheap christmas pudding. The yeast needs work to further improve the beer. daniele (9219) - ITALY - AUG 10, 2011
