COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our Imperial Stout that we age in conditioning tanks with oak staves. This adds a classic character of old world aging without the Bourbon tones. This black ale is about 12% ABV and very rich in roasted and chocolate malt tones. Velvety smooth and able to be aged for years. For now this will be a seasonal beer offering.

Bottle from PUB’N. Pours onyx with 1-finger brown head and awesome lacing. Nose is molasses, figs, prunes, dark malt, cacao. Tastes rich, dark malty, with heavy cacao, coffee, and some finishing hoppy dryness. very rich and creamy, this one hides its power well, then whips it out and knocks you for a loop later. Very good, and thanks a ton to my anonymous benefactor for procuring this one for the Good Doctor of Beerdom.

on Tap at EBF 09. Pours an ok deep dark black with a diminishing head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted barley a bit of charred black malts, slight smoke and lots of DMS and vegetal character which was a real turnoff. More oak woodiness with vanilla, earth and tart- licorice and some anice seed more vegetal- and a bit thin in the end iwth more charred malts and a dry oakyness.

Poured thick, creamy and black with a tan head. Dry roasted malt, cocoa, mild vanilla, and burnt sugar. Sweet highly roasted malt flavor (but not bitter roast)with a touch of vanilla. Full bodied and creamy with mild alcohol on the tongue and a lot in the chest.

gunhaver (1030) - Tampa, Florida, USA - FEB 8, 2009
Bottle, courtesy Ibrew2or3or4or5or6. Dark brownish red with dark tan head, creamy lacing. Funky caramel nose, some tartness, dry oak and slight roast. Some licorice. Creamy roast flavors, chocolate and raisin, toast, coffee and caramel. Medium-bodied, balanced, feels aged oddly enough, but still good.

Acquired via a sweet-ass trade with treyrab. It pours deep darkness with brown to amber edges and thin tan head. The aroma is roasty malts mixing with mild chocolate, molasses, near burnt malts and black licorice. The taste is sweet rich yummy goodness consisting of creamy molasses and chocolate followed by dark to burnt malts. The burnt malts move toward hints of coffee, toffee and lighter notes of more burnt malts. Very nice stuff that will only improve with age. Yum!

Thanks IBrew2or3 for the share. Pours dark brown/ black with brown head. Aroma is chocolate malt, licorice, slight dark chocolate, and coffee. Flavor is chocolate malt, licorice, earthy coffee, down to earth flavor with dark chocolate flavors, too. Finish is bitter. Enjoyable beer, and smooth. Did not know it was 12%.

22 oz bottle. A delicious impy perfect for these cold days. I’ve been waiting for this an Black Magick to be released and they are worth the wait. This beer is big- strong licorice and chocolate aroma with a big thickness to it. Pour was a perfect dark black with a one finger tan head that laces the whole glass. The last bit of the bottle put a dark brown spot on the head as if there was actually chocolate topping it off. Taste was strong and full. Thick chewy chocolate with a strong peppery note in the aftertaste. There is an off kind of saw dust flavor on the back of the tongue. The beer is strong but doesn’t taste like 12%. Nice job!
