COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our Imperial Stout that we age in conditioning tanks with oak staves. This adds a classic character of old world aging without the Bourbon tones. This black ale is about 12% ABV and very rich in roasted and chocolate malt tones. Velvety smooth and able to be aged for years. For now this will be a seasonal beer offering.

. Nose of chocolate and roasted coffee, roast, mild boozy bourbon, slight oak and raisin. A great nose. Tastes of chocolate and coffee, mild roast, a great dose of bitter, some coffee and vanilla. Thick and viscous

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2017 W aromacie likier czekoladowy, gorzka czekolada. W smaku półwytrawne, dość słodkie, gorzkie, lekka kwasowość. Alkohol wyczuwalny, ale nie przeszkadza. Mało ciała, ale nie jest złe.

Oily, black colour, some tan lacing. Strong malty aroma, raisins, some chocolate, alcohol pushing through. Somewhat sweet taste, coffee and malts. Medium body, light carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Alright but kinda weak.

Bottle 33cl. Pours dark with a medium light brown head. Aroma is chocolate, grapes, whiskey. Full body, sticky with a soft to flat carbonation. Taste is cafe, cherry, whiskey and red wine. No alcohol taste for 12%. Bitter cafe end, long lasting. Nice beer. 07/17

(2013 version on tap @ Mikkeller and Friends, Copenhagen, May 11/17) Pours black with a tan head. Notes of quite roasted malts, burnt, ashy, nutty toast, light chocolate, some raw sugar, umami, leathery oak. A bit thin, very dry, almost mineral, with acidic roast that carries burnt notes all the way through to the aftertaste, where it’s augmented by some booze as well. Feels a bit oxidized, maybe the ~4yo nature of the beer. Mouthfeel not so substantial for style, carbonation soft. Eh, I think I see what the target was, but fresher/barrel might improve hitting it. As is, the thin bitter vibe doesn’t work so well for me.

12 oz bottle from tavour. Nutty, notes of old licorice, bit of vinagar and ash. Nice taste, but a bit tepid for the style, doesn’t really jump out at you.
