kraddel (9336) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - DEC 3, 2017
thnx, 90! Pours dark, unclear brown, no lasting white head. Smell is rhum, boozy, oak, bit sweet malty roastyness. Taste is sharp, boozy, grainy, roasted malts, medium body. Doesn't stand against the blast of rhum. Bit weak as a base for a barrel like this. Medium carbo. Not as terrible as expected after seeing the score and all, but not great either.

Sampled at rbsg. In the tasting glass dark with a hint of foam. Nose is rum and I can not get much else. Alcoholic mouth feel. Flavor show vanilla but the rum is overwhelming. Finish shows a hint of chocolate and vanilla under all that rum . This has the makings of good beer but there was too run left in the barrels it seems to me.

RBSG 2016, hey, did Art bring this? Just wondering. He must have known How I’d rate it, heheh. Volatile whisky smell makes for a nose alarm. Not really black, mostly really dark brown. Taste is what else? Whisky soaked beer. Why do we age beer in barrels? To change the taste ofthe beer or to augment? What ever, what else can be said, except I’m grateful you guys let me taste it, for a tick.

dark brown red, 1 finger head. the booze is really intense on this one, smells like just smelling straight rum. holy hell. tastes like straight rum watered down with grains. boozy mess honestly. rum, some candy sugar, sweet, cloying, lasting rum flavor. might as well just buy some captain morgan.
