COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel Room Collection - Seasonal Release We conducted a highly scientific study over the last few years and found that 95.3%* of "pumpkin" beers don’t actually contain any real pumpkin. What gives? So, in response, we slaughtered over 200lbs of real pumpkin and brewed up this barleywine. Then we aged it in bourbon barrels with even more pumpkin, cinnamon, and Madagascar vanilla beans. So drink with caution because there’s real pumpkin in this bottle (unlike the sea of wannabes out there)

From notes. Enjoyed at the 4th Annual Barleywine Tasting at Nicole’s house on January 28. 22 oz bottle. The pour is a clear, light amber with a thin cap of light tan head and a spot or two of lace as it falls. The aroma is messy. There is a heavy alcohol and a light spiciness right up front. A light pumpkin and a hint of vanilla come in late, but it’s mostly spicy booze. The flavor is much better. I love the pumpkin to this. It’s like a pumpkin pie. The spice, vanilla, and alcohol all meld together well with the gourd flavor. The mouth feel is a little light with a softer carbonation and a lingeringly spicy booze finish that has a light vanilla to it. This is a completely different beer from the nose through the taste. I like the finish.

At the Barleywine event. Aroma is pumpkin, cinnamon, booze, barrel, nutmeg, caramel. Appearance is light amber, light light tan head, clear. Taste is pumpkin spice, caramel, booze, pumpkin, eh. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, pumpkin spice aftertaste. Overall, it’s good for a pumpkin beer.
