COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel Room Collection IV This batch of Big Black was split and aged in two carefully selected varieties of bourbon barrels hand picked for the chocolate, vanilla and coconut flavors they impart with extended aging, along with Madagascar vanilla beans and Ghanaian cocoa nibs. Once removed from the barrel, fresh Michigan tart cherries were added resulting in a well balanced stout with notes of vanilla, chocolate, cherry, oak and bourbon.

Bomber courtesy of Milsem. Pours blackish dark brown with a small mocha head that doesnt leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell malty, tiny fruity, tiny spicy and slightly boozy with roasted malts, burnt caramel, vanilla fudge, charred wood, Nescaf, chocolate covered cherries, green chili, minerals and bourbon alcohol. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter, malty and slightly fruity. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny astringent, slightly boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, caramel, chocolate covered cherries, cherry juice, soil and bourbon alcohol. Bit thin and lacking in body perhaps but lovely cherry and bourbon presence.

This looks like oreo chocolate milk. dark brown, lots of stuff floating around in it, thin head. The smell is pretty outrageous but the most unique beer Ive ever smelled. I dont get any bourbon, i do get a little vanilla, chocolate, I guess cherry or some other kind of tree fruit. The taste though, well, its not holding back any booze at all. 12% and you taste it. you do get cherry absolutely and like a chocolate hersheys bar kind of flavor. its sweet throughout, malt-bomb, actually a little graham cracker and a lot of almond joy elements of coconut, chocolate and nuts. Still thoughh, its nice but trying to do too much at once.

Draft pour at the source. The beer is a murky black with no head. The aroma has chocolate and cherry. Dry wood notes. Thick. Very sweet. Low carbonation.

On tap @ Homestead location, RBSG 2016. Near black. Aroma of chocolate and soy sauce, mild cherry. Flavours are dominantly bitter roast and dark chocolate with an acidic fruit essence that comes out as cherry late in the finish. Boozy.
