Poured almost black with a loose khaki head. An alcohol roasted malt flavor with a touch of chocolate make the nose. The palate consists of heavily roasted mouth sweetness and the sting of alcohol. The finish is rich and smooth.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head, sustained for a good minute before gently dieing to leave some messy clingy lace. The aroma had a strong sweet and roasted nuttiness up front with a smooth sweet caramel/toffee malt base. Earthy/citrusy/grassy hops meld with a little bit of driftwood, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. The flavor started sweet taking the nutty roastiness to the smooth sweet caramel/toffee maltiness exceptionally clean. The hops brought in an ample of bitterness to bite the aftertaste just a hair. The finish was somewhat quick with a touch of vanilla, brought back the chocolate with the nuts. The finish was about medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. ABV was a bit higher than normal for the range of brown ales, but still felt good. Carbonation felt good. Overall, now that’s a brown ale that was lovely in it’s entirety. Why do I have to get my parents to get this for me? Wish Voodoo distributed to Vermont.

a little boozy for "only" 7%, but the caramel and lightly roasted malts are nice throughout. Finishes malty and earthy, with a touch of bittering hops.

On tap at Voodoo Homestead. Clear dark brown with small off-white head. Aroma is nuts, medium body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is nuts, caramel nuts, and alcohol. Too much booze.

The alcoholic aftertaste is the only thing that reallt subtracts from this funky bass line

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2016 Draft at Bru Craft. Nearly opaque copper brown pour with a soft khaki foam ring. No lasting lace. Unusual juicy full-bodied earthy brown ale with dark red fruits. Black currants. Peat. Molasses. Dates. Bruised peaches. Shoe polish. Burnt pepper. Good stuff!

on tap @ Voodoo / Homestead PA --- Hazy brown color, beige head that drops to a rim, streaks of lace. Taste is sweet brown sugar and malt that grows as it moves through medium fizz to very light hops in a medium finish. Big, malt centered, but not heavy. I like it.

Cloudy dark brown, 1 finger tan head. creamy lactose aroma, sweet, licorice and cinnamon. mmm, this is well done. creamy finish, lactose sugar for sure. a robustness of it that hits you nice but then falls flat at the end. I get some christmas spice but at the end of a day it ’s a brown ale, although a very well done one
